SSHRC Insight Grant Deadline

Insight Grants support research excellence in the social sciences and humanities. Funding is available to both emerging and established scholars for long-term research initiatives of two to five years.

• Stream A for requests between $7,000 and $100,000 over two to five years; or
• Stream B for requests between $100,001 and $400,000 over two to five years.

University of Toronto specific deadlines:

Internal deadline to receive MRA – noon, Wednesday, September 22, 2021

• Approved MRA must be received by Research Services (MRA may take several days for divisional approval, please submit well in advance). The MRA should include a draft proposal and finalized budget amount.

Internal deadline to submit online application – 9 am, Tuesday, September 28, 2021

• Applicant must submit completed SSHRC application via SSHRC site (please note, submitting after this time may reduce our ability to submit your application to SSHRC by their deadline).
