Congratulations to Sociology PhD students Natalia Bittencourt Otto and Andrea Roman Alfaro for receiving The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) for International Students. The OGS program has provided merit-based scholarships to Ontario’s best graduate students in all disciplines of academic study since 1975. The province annually allocates the number of OGS awards that each university can offer to their students and each award is jointly funded by the Province of Ontario and the University. The scholarships allow students to focus wholly on their doctoral studies, seek out the best research mentors in their chosen fields, and contribute to the Canadian research ecosystem during and beyond the tenure of their awards.
