August 11, 2023 by Shreeya Lamba

Congratulations to David Pettinicchio, UTM Associate Professor and Associate Chair, Tri-Campus Graduate Department, for his new role as the executive co-editor of the Canadian Sociological Association’s flagship journal, the Canadian Review of Sociology.

Pettinicchio’s work as a political sociologist focuses on inequalities, culture, race, gender, health, and disability. He examines how groups interact with social institutions, and how these interactions inform the development of political constituencies. His work has been widely published in journals such as the Canadian Review of Sociology, Canadian Public Policy, and Sociological Perspectives, as well as being featured in media such as the Toronto Star and the Washington Post.

As part of his new role as executive co-editor, Pettinicchio has supported the creation of a Graduate Student Advisory Board. Members of the advisory board, as outlined by Pettinicchio, “will play an integral role in the editorial process while also receiving important mentoring in how to read and review manuscripts.”
