Professor Cynthia Cranford awarded Jeanette Wright Award for Excellence in Graduate Student Mentorship

The Department of Sociology is pleased to announce that Professor Cynthia Cranford has been awarded the 2022 Jeanette Wright Award for Excellence in Graduate Student Mentorship. This award is offered to a current faculty member in the St George Department of Sociology who has demonstrated excellence in mentoring graduate students and who is currently active in supervising and/or mentoring graduate students. The award is named after Jeanette Wright who was a dedicated graduate administrator in Sociology before retiring a few years ago. Professor Cranford’s areas of specialization include research on the inequalities of gender, work, and migration, and on the collective efforts to resist the disparities. Her name will be added to the Jeannette Wright plaque currently next to room 240 (725 Spadina Ave). Congratulations Professor Cranford!
